Happy Sunday & I hope I find you really well? It’s been a lovely few weeks here, with my brother home from Canada. I’m filled up with Family meals & catching up time. It never gets easier saying goodbye but we look forward to the next visit + store up the memories till we see each other again xx

In between cooking & chatting, I got a few hours to myself last weekend to put together a lamp that I have had since Last Christmas {Yup, you read that right!} and for a million and one reasons, hadn’t put together yet. One of these reasons being that when I opened the box for the first time, my kids were next to me and not wanting little hands to get the small parts, I put them away somewhere safe. Ah man, do you do this? Well, my ‘somewhere safe’ turned into where in the name of Harry Potter did I put that thing? So, lesson learnt: put things back in the box they came in, next time!!

What was really nice though, was when I got in contact with Dunnes Stores, in the off chance that they may have the parts to spare, they went above and beyond to help me. They sourced the parts for me and I picked them up at the Swords Branch where the lovely Anna had the parts put aside.

So, the fun began and to be honest, it stated on the box that you needed one hour to piece it together, but it took me 1 hour 40 minutes. Admittedly, I was taking photo’s too + was so tired, I went wrong at one stage, and had to start again. So, er, maybe you can put it together in one?!!

The above photo is an example of where I lost my way! I started to place 3 tabs in one section instead of 2 and had to start again. Luckily, I wasn’t too far into the process, when I noticed my mistake. It was pretty satisfying to see the beautiful shade come together

And now, to finally have a table lamp on my side table next to the bed

My bed side table, as with the whole house is still a work in progress. Since taking the photo’s, the alarm clock is just next to the lamp now, so it’s not blocking it. I hope to buy some nice faux flowers for the pitcher vase and it just happened that day, that I had NO fresh flowers in the house {gasp!} so there is nothing in my geometric vase…

…but I like the little juxtaposition of the folds in the lamp + my pretty pink vase!

I also want to bring down a print that I recieved from my brother in Canada + his partner, of Inuit Art

I love it, but it’s placed too high.

I keep on looking at the lamp ‘cos I love it so much!! One of these days, I’ll blog more about the progress in the Bedroom Design, but for the moment, I’m looking out for a nice coaster to place my night time cuppa + there is always a book on the table. I’m leaving it there, though, as i’m in an extremely clutter free mood at the moment! This is NOT to say that our house is a Clutter Free Zone, I’m afraid – far from it, but I’m pretty determined to improving that.

Have you made any recent purchases for your home? Or made any Home Improvements? I’d love to hear from you!

*a special thanks to Caroline, Mark & Anna at http://www.dunnesstores.com for their help in sourcing the parts I lost

Have the loveliest Sunday, whatever you do xxxx
